The Google Local Guide program is a community-driven initiative powered by Google which encourages users to contribute information and details about local places, attractions as well as businesses. Users taking part in this initiative are referred to as Local guides and they are responsible for sharing their knowledge and experiences by sharing pictures, writing reviews, and updating information. Besides this, the local guides also answer questions about various locations on Google Maps.

Local Customers becoming a local guide – 

Anybody with a Google account is eligible to become a Local guide and begin making contributions to the Google Maps application. To join the program the users are supposed to follow the steps which are mentioned below. 

  1. To join the local guide program you have to sign into your Google account on Google Maps. 
  2. You need to click on the three horizontal lines you see on the top-left corner of the screen and then you are supposed to scroll down and opt for the ‘Your Contributions’ option after which you need to click on ‘Join Local Guides’ 
  3. Once you do this, you just need to follow the instructions which are provided on the screen for you to finish the sign up process.
